WORKSHOPS
Painless Figure Painting
This will be a 2 day workshop in a wonderfully lit, glass enclosed, sun porch. I will do demos in both oils and watercolors and will paint at least one figure and one portrait, more if the class wishes. Workshop participants are welcome to paint either figures or portraits, or both. They are also welcome to work in any medium they choose. I am comfortable in most wet and dry mediums, so bring whatever you’re interested in. Each person can work from whatever photographic reference they wish. If the class wishes I also do a charcoal drawing demo showing anatomy and breaking the figure into basic shapes.
This workshop is designed to familiarize the student with the fastest technique I know for rendering the figure. We will go over some anatomy, but mostly we’re looking at rendering shapes and shadow patterns.
All skill levels are welcome and each student will be helped individually at their speed and skill set.
Above all, we’re going to have fun, because that’s what it’s all about. There’ll be no pressure to create a masterpiece. All critiques are always positive and up lifting. It’s been my experience, even the roughest painting has some redeeming qualities that can be pointed out from which the student can use to build on.
-Two day workshop $100.
- Always on a Thursday and Friday
-9am - 4pm.
-Space is limited to 6 people.
-Once your check is deposited your place is reserved. It is only refundable if you can secure a replacement.
-Lunch in not provided, but you can bring something we can store in the fridge or there are great restaurants very close. We will be right behind Highland Village and Whole Foods.
When you contact me I will give you directions and if you share your phone number with me, I’d be glad to speak with you on the phone as well.
